Hermes Logistics Technologies (HLT) has announced a new SaaS migration agreement with Frankfurt-based cargo handler LUG, further strengthening the company’s presence within one of Europe’s largest and most strategically important air cargo hubs. The project, which is scheduled to begin this year, will see LUG migrate its Hermes 5 Cargo Management System (CMS) from on-premise infrastructure to HLT’s fully managed SaaS ecosystem. With this latest agreement, HLT now supports five cargo handlers operating at Frankfurt Airport, reinforcing the company’s long-standing position within one of the world’s busiest cargo communities and its continued investment in supporting complex cargo handling environments. Frankfurt continues to play a pivotal role in global air cargo, handling millions of tonnes of freight each year and serving as a critical gateway for international trade. Supporting multiple handlers operating within the same cargo community gives HLT valuable insight into the operational challenges shared across one of Europe’s busiest logistics environments and reinforces its commitment to supporting the airport’s continued digital evolution. The move to the Hermes SaaS ecosystem will enable LUG to reduce infrastructure overheads, simplify system maintenance and improve operational resilience through secure cloud hosting, simplified version management and enhanced scalability. The migration also creates a platform for future innovation, including expanded ecosystem connectivity and AI-enabled capabilities. Yuval Baruch, CEO at Hermes Logistics Technologies, said: “Frankfurt continues to be one of the most important cargo gateways in the world, and we’re proud to support an increasing number of organisations operating within that ecosystem. As cargo communities become more connected, cloud-native platforms play an increasingly important role in helping operators collaborate more effectively, adopt new technologies more quickly and continue evolving without disrupting live operations.” LUG, added: “Moving to the Hermes SaaS ecosystem represents an important step in our long-term technology strategy. It provides a more resilient and scalable platform while reducing the operational effort associated with maintaining infrastructure and major upgrades. We look forward to continuing our partnership with HLT as our business continues to evolve.” Hermes Logistics Technologies has supported cargo operations globally for more than 25 years and continues to expand its SaaS footprint across Europe, helping cargo handlers build resilient, connected and future-ready cargo operations. This project reinforces HLT’s approach to helping customers modernise with confidence, delivering technology evolution, without compromising operational continuity.
