Awesome Cargo has completed the first heavy maintenance C-check carried out by its Engineering & Maintenance team. The work was conducted with support and supervision from Mexicana MRO and released by Mexico’s civil aviation authority. According to the airline, the achievement reflects the work of its engineers, technicians, inspectors, planners and wider maintenance team. For Awesome Cargo, the significance extends beyond the completion of a single check. The airline described the milestone as part of a longer-term effort to build the capability required to maintain its own fleet to high standards of safety, precision and discipline. “The capabilities to maintain your own fleet to the highest standards of safety, precision and discipline must be built. They cannot be leased. They must be earned,” the company said. The completion of the C-check also points to the airline’s wider ambitions. Awesome Cargo said it expects to operate a larger fleet in the future and intends for its maintenance organisation eventually to support aircraft operated by other companies. The airline did not provide further details on the aircraft involved, the duration of the maintenance work or the scope of the inspection. However, it positioned the event as a foundation for future expansion, both in fleet operations and maintenance activity.
