NYS&W hosts FRA leaders for site tour

Continued partnership will be important as we work to serve our customers and support regional growth.” During the visit, the FRA representatives met with Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham, Cortland Mayor Scott Steve, NYS&W leadership and regional business leaders. Feeley and Roberts also met NYS&W employees from the mechanical, engineering and transportation departments and viewed NYS&W locomotive No. 3634, which carries special patriotic livery. The officials also took part in a 7-mile hi-rail inspection from Cortland north to Little York, which highlighted projects completed through a combination of FRA Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program, the New York State Department of Transportation’s Passenger and Freight Rail Assistance Program (PFRAP) and NYS&W capital investment. The NYS&W operates more than 400 miles of track in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It interchanges with CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway.
