Fugro scores deepwater ROV contract for ONGC drilling campaign

Fugro Vantage has awarded a three-year contract to provide ROV-based deepwater drill support services for ONGC’s offshore drilling operations in India to Fugro. Under the contract, Fugro will support drilling and completion activities in water depths of up to 3,000 m on board Vantage’s 2010-built Platinum Explorer drillship. The work forms part of ONGC’s deepwater exploration programme, aimed at unlocking new offshore energy reserves, strengthening India’s energy security and supporting long-term domestic oil and gas production. The Vantage drillship was awarded a drilling contract by ONGC back in February. The three-year deal, which has a one-year extension option, is valued at $261m. Fugro will provide comprehensive subsea ROV support across all phases of drilling operations, including subsea installation and intervention, drilling, and completion support, BOP and well-control monitoring, cementing observation, and seabed inspection. The company will deploy its FCV3000 ROV system to work in a deepwater environment. The project will help the client maintain safe, efficient and uninterrupted drilling operations throughout the campaign.
