First Ever Unmanned Voyage with Cargo behind Polar Circle

An unmanned cutter has delivered medicine, parcels from marketplaces and other goods from Teriberka to Ostrovnoy in the Murmansk region, Murmansk region Governor Andrey Chibis said in his social media account. He put special emphasis on the fact that it is the first sea voyage made by an unmanned vessel with cargo on board behind the Polar Circle. Using artificial intelligence, the cutter developed by Murmansk-based Progress NPK plotted its course correcting it taking into account obstacles. before that, the cutter completed the first ever autonomous expedition behind the Polar Circle travelling almost 170 km between Liinahamari and Ura-Guba.
