ePost Global has opened an expanded facility near O’Hare International Airport, tripling its Chicago-area footprint and making it the company’s largest US operation for ecommerce parcels and mail. The expansion is designed to support continued volume growth and its busiest peak season to date. The new facility can handle a wider range of shipment profiles, from small parcels and poly mailers to flats and larger packages. Additional space and throughput will help ePost Global manage seasonal surges and network disruption without imposing volume limits on customers. The operation combines automated sortation, advanced scanning and tracking, optical character recognition and piece-to-container verification to improve accuracy and reduce manual handling. It also strengthens ePost Global’s wider carrier, postal and air cargo network, providing greater routing flexibility and capacity assurance on international lanes. Building on unprecedented growth last peak season for ecommerce parcel processing, ePost Global, today announced the opening of its expanded operation near O’Hare International Airport, tripling the company’s Chicago-area footprint and significantly increasing its capacity to process international parcels and mail. Now ePost Global’s largest U.S. processing operation for both ecommerce parcels and mail, the expanded facility strengthens the company’s ability to accommodate additional customers, a broader range of shipment profiles and continued growth in international shipping volumes. The larger footprint also provides greater flexibility to scale operations during peak periods and times of network disruption. The expansion comes as ePost Global prepares for what it expects will be its busiest peak season to date. Sustained growth in customers and shipping volumes had pushed the company’s previous Chicago-area operation to capacity, creating the need for a larger, more advanced facility designed to support continued growth without limiting the volume customers can ship. “Chicago has become our highest-volume U.S. operation, and we reached the point where demand was outgrowing the space,” said Kelly Martinez, Co-President of ePost Global. “Coming off a record year, we’re on track for another record peak season for ePost Global. This gives us the capacity to innovate, scale our operations, and deliver the flexibility and reliability our customers need.” In addition to increasing capacity, the expanded operation will allow ePost Global to process a broader range of shipment profiles, including small parcels, poly mailers, flats and larger packages. The additional space and throughput will also provide greater flexibility during seasonal surges and periods of network disruption, when capacity across shipping networks is under the greatest strain. “When our customers are ready to grow, their shipping partner needs to be ready to grow with them,” said Fabrizio Alvear, Co-Founder and Co-President of ePost Global. “We are investing ahead of demand so we can accept more volume without imposing artificial limits when capacity matters most. This facility gives us room to serve customers through the coming peak season and continue scaling well beyond it.” The expanded operation combines automated sortation with advanced scanning and tracking, optical character recognition and piece-to-container verification. Together, these capabilities identify exceptions in real time, improve sort accuracy, reduce repeat scanning and manual handling, and allow more shipments to move directly from induction into the correct outbound container to destination hubs around the world. The Chicago-area expansion is the latest step in ePost Global’s multiyear investment in facility automation, shipment visibility, customer integrations, returns management and other digital capabilities. By connecting customer, operational and carrier data across the shipment journey, ePost Global is building a more responsive network that can adapt as customer needs and international shipping conditions change. The expanded operation also complements ePost Global’s longstanding relationships with postal operators, commercial carriers and airline partners. Its diversified carrier network and established air cargo relationships provide greater capacity assurance, routing flexibility and service continuity across key international lanes, particularly during peak periods and times of disruption.
